Today is Stewardship Sunday!
STEWARDSHIP 2007 -
Number 6
“Multiplying Our Gifts”
As Christ
Multiplied the loaves and Fish
Christ
Multiplies our Stewardship
of Time,
Talent & Treasure
GIVING OUR GIFTS WITH FAITH IN
CHRIST
s
Orthodox Christians we are
all called to give of what we
have been given. It takes faith to
trust that God will continue to
provide for our needs. But
experience tells us that He does!
Stewardship is returning to God a
fair proportion of the resources He has given to us. Supporting
the Church should be a priority for
every Orthodox Christian, and
performed on a regular and consistent basis. We should
not depend on special events to
support our budget.
Your
Stewardship is VITAL, so that
Christ the Savior Church can:
- Keep in touch with
you;
- Maintain our buildings
and grounds;
- Meet
our Budget with its many needs, including for the first time, property
taxes;
- Worship the Lord with
thankfulness on a regular and consistent basis;
- Educate us in the
knowledge of the Lord;
- and provide
for the needy and those who serve
us.
In making your 2007
Stewardship decision, keep in mind
that the expenses of our
Parish keep increasing every year. In order to
meet those expenses and grow in
ministry, Stewards should
strive to increase their commitment of Time, Talent and Treasure each
year. Never forget the
Miracle of the loaves and fish!
Give with faith in Christ!
God will multiply your gifts!
Thanks for your
support!
With
Faith and Love in Christ,
Your Stewardship
Chairman, Bill Pasisis

EPISTLE – Ephesians 2:4-10
(23rd Sunday)
rethren, God who is rich
in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us, even when we
were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by
grace you have been saved), and raised us up with him, and made us sit
with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the coming ages
he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us
in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and
this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God: not because of works,
lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk
in them.
GOSPEL – Luke 12:16-21
(9th Luke)
he Lord said this parable:
"The land of a rich man brought forth plentifully; and he thought to
himself, 'What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?' And he
said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones;
and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my
soul, 'Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; take your
ease, eat, drink, be merry.' But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your
soul is required of you; and the things you have prepared, whose will
they be?' So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich
toward God." As he said these things, he cried out: "He who has ears to
hear, let him hear."
