OFFICIAL NOTICE TO ALL STEWARDS

SPECIAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY – SUNDAY, JANUARY 23, 2005

All Stewards of Christ the Savior Greek Orthodox Church are called to a Special General Assembly to be held following the Divine Liturgy, on Sunday, January 23, 2005, in the Parish Hall at 13460 Olympic Village Lane, Brooksville. The only item on the Agenda will be the proposal by the Mission Parish Council to extend the authorization of our Mission to place our property on the real estate market for another year. A simple majority of those present will approve the proposal.

The Mission Parish Council has received several serious inquiries in the past few months, some of which are now in process. Our property is valuable and is competitively priced at about $27,000 an acre, the amount received for a neighboring property within the last two months. Though it is valuable for a camp, housing, or a school building, it is the judgment of the majority of the members of your Council and your Priest, that the present location does not  contribute to future growth.

If we receive the amount asked for the property, a modest building can be built for the amount we receive. Depending upon costs we will build a completely finished Church and Hall, or, we will build a functional shell of both a Church and a Hall, the interior of which could be completed gradually. There will be no mortgage. Below and elsewhere in this bulletin are sketches of a possible structure prepared for us without charge by Steward Dimmy Andoniadis. This is just an example.

When we sell the land and authorize a new building, we will receive at no cost from an anonymous donor a 4.75 acre lot on Anderson Snow Road in Spring Hill, FL to build our future Church. It is located opposite the County Recreational Center, midway between Spring Hill Dr. and County Line Rd., both with interchanges off the Florida Suncoast Parkway. The land can be seen from the Parkway. It is an excellent location. The value of this land when purchased was $137,500.

You are urged to attend the Special General Assembly to vote on the proposal.

Service hours: Sundays and Feast days: Orthros at 9:30 am; Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am.

 Evening Services as Announced

Saints: Polyeftos of Melitene, Armenia, Martyr (+259); Eustratios of Tarsus; Philip, Metropolitan of Moscow; the Prophet Shemaiah; Peter, Bishop of Sebaste, Armenia.

EPISTLE – Ephesians 4: 7-13: (Post Epiphany)

B

rethren, grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. Therefore it is said, "When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men." (in saying, "He ascended," what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is he who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

GOSPEL – Matthew 4:12-17 (Post-Epiphany)

A

t that time, Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee; and leaving Nazareth he went and dwelt in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali, that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: "The

land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, across the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and for those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned." From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
