Dismissal Hymn of St. Ignatios

Becoming a partner with the Apostles / in way of life / and
successor to their thrones, / O God-inspired saint, / in the
active life you found an entrance to contemplation. / Hence
you rightly expounded the world of truth, / and you shed
your blood / in struggling for the faith, / O Priest-martyr
Ignatios. / Intercede with Christ our God, / beseeching that
our souls be saved.

(Read)
O Christ our God / who through your birth / have sanctified
the virginal womb / and have blessed the arms of Simeon.
Today You have come to save us. / O Lord keep Your people in
peace / when wars are raging / and strengthen our public
authorities / in every good deed, / for You alone loves all
people.

EPISTLE – 1
Timothy 4:9-15 (32st Sunday) Timothy, my son,
the saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance. For to
this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on
the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of
those who believe. Command and teach these things. Let no
one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in
speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Till I
come, attend to the public reading of scripture, to
preaching, to teaching. Do not neglect the gift you have,
which was given you by prophetic utterance when the council
of elders laid their hands upon you. Practice these duties,
devote yourself to them, so that all may see your progress.
GOSPEL – Luke
19:1-10 (15th Sunday- Zaccheus) At that time, Jesus
entered Jericho and was passing through. And there was a man
named Zacchaios; he was a chief collector, and rich. And he
sought to see who Jesus was, but could not, on account of
the crowd, because he was small of stature. So he ran on
ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he
was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he
looked up and said to him, "Zacchaios, make haste and come
down; for I must stay at your house today." So he made haste
and came down, and received him joyfully. And when they saw
it they all murmured, "He has gone in to be the guest of a
man who is a sinner." And Zacchaios stood and said to the
Lord, "Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the
poor; and if I have defrauded any one of anything, I restore
it fourfold." And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has
come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. For
the Son of man came to seek and to save the lost."

members to volunteer for the project. Needed are two
co-chairs and committee members. To volunteer, please call
Connie Mourgides, President of the Parish Council at

OOPS! Mistakenly omitted
from last week’s notice on the successful “Vasilopita” was
the fact that one of the three Vasilopita breads was made by
Venice Cosmadelis. Our apologies! Those who made the loaves
were Presbytera Emily Harakas, Venice Cosmadelis and Connie
Mourgides. Helen Nicolelis chaired the event. Thanks to all
who supported this philanthropic effort. We are very
grateful!
BULLETIN SPONSORS ARE NEEDED
FOR MARCH AND APRIL! Please contact Connie Mourgides to
secure a date for your special message.
A CARD OF THANKS was
received after Christmas from Shellie Seymour and her
family, in response to the Dino Adamis Philanthropic Fund
distribution at Christmas time. They write: “Dear Church
friends, Thanks so much for the food and gifts for our
family. We really appreciate all you have done. You
have been such a special blessing. God bless you at
Christmas and the New Year. In Christ’s love, Shellie
Seymour and Family.” We are grateful to all who make
this work of love possible.
TWO YOUTH CONFERENCES:
Our Archdiocese Department of Youth and Young Adult
Ministries has announced two parallel youth conferences one
for Altar Boys and one for Girls and Young Women ages 12-18.
The conferences will be held concurrently at Hellenic
College / Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in
Brookline, MA during the weekend of April 6-9, 2006.
Workshops, talks, and dialogue on their roles within the
Christian faith and learning about resources for the future
in addition to recreation opportunities are included. For
more information check the “Let us be radiant” poster in the
Parish Hall, call 646-519-6180 or visit

GEORGE & DEE NIKAS ask
the members of Christ the Savior Church to pray for their
son-in-law Dennis Ressel, who has just come out of a five
by-pass surgery at Bayonet Point Hospital, that his recovery
may be complete and without complications. We all pray for a
rapid recovery and for Denise and their sons.
HELP YOUR CHILDREN AND
GRANDCHILDREN CONNECT WITH THEIR ROOTS! For thirty years
our Archdiocese has conducted a program for 7th
to 9th grade children and a program for 10th
to 12th grade high school students at the Ionian
Village facility in Greece. “Ionian Village” is an
experience. Teens and young adults that participate in
Ionian Village travel across Greece, venerate the relics of
saints, walk in the footsteps of the Apostles, and visit
significant sites of Greek history and culture. Ionian
Village is a unique summer camping program located at an
Archdiocese owned and operated resort facility on the
northwest coast of the Peoloponnese, 45 miles west of Patras.
To learn more about this travel opportunity for your
children and grandchildren, call 646-519-6190, or visit
www.ionianvillage.org for registration material or speak
to Fr. Stanley. Check out the poster and brochure in the
Parish Hall.
